Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 4 'Murders and Acquisitions' (July 30): Everything Confirmed So Far
Bounty Pack 4 “Murders and Acquisitions” arrives July 30, 2026 with Version 1.9. Three things matter: a new zone (Toxic Scowl), the Pearlescent PRISM plus six named Legendaries, and A-or-B choices that swap dialogue, combat setups, and your final-boss ally. Here is everything 2K has confirmed.

About that title
“Murders and Acquisitions” is a play on M&A — Mergers and Acquisitions, with “mergers” swapped for “murders.” (The official Japanese title, 殺人と買収, keeps the pun as a direct translation.)
It fits the content, too. The pack is about brokering peace between two warring factions, which is a corporate merger negotiation rewritten with guns. It’s the kind of corporate-satire naming the series has always run on.
The setting — Toxic Scowl
A polluted desert canyon. Gearbox describes contrasting locations packed into one area — contaminated pools, salt flats, and a secret base — though the exact sub-location layout is still unconfirmed.
The story — Levaine and two warring Rippers factions
The through-line: Levaine, leader of the Electi, hires you to broker peace between two opposed Ripper factions.
| Faction | Character |
|---|---|
| The Flock | A pacifist commune |
| The Blasphemers | Militants — corrupted, mechanized psychos |
The DevCast frames the pack as a character piece: it “focuses on faction leader Levaine and digs into who she is through her quests.” This is a character-deepening Bounty Pack rather than a one-off bounty hunt.
The job is not only diplomacy: you are also there to secure powerful Order tech. Expect crowds of bandits who are, in 2K’s words, “even more berserk than usual after having licked copious amounts of contaminated salt” — the salt flats of Toxic Scowl feeding straight into the enemy design.
What you need to start it
You must have had your first encounter with Levaine in Carcadia Burn during the main campaign.
The loot — all seven items named
2K named the new gear outright: one Pearlescent and six Legendaries.
| Tier | Name | Type |
|---|---|---|
| ⬡ Pearlescent | PRISM | Jakobs sniper rifle |
| ★ Legendary | Silver Sliver | Daedalus pistol |
| ★ Legendary | Overconsumption | Tediore pistol |
| ★ Legendary | Plump Bob | Ripper shotgun |
| ★ Legendary | Hydrowerks | Torgue shield |
| ★ Legendary | Oxidation | Vladof repkit |
| ★ Legendary | Loiter Sploiter | Torgue heavy weapon (ordnance) |
The pre-reveal rumour that the Pearlescent would be a Jakobs sniper is confirmed: it is PRISM.
They drop from one new boss and three new mini-bosses in Toxic Scowl. 2K never published which enemy drops what — but the mapping is now worked out, and it accounts for all seven items.
Every boss and its dedicated drop (updated 2026-08-03)
| Slot | Name | Dedicated drops |
|---|---|---|
| Boss | BETAMAXX | ⬡ PRISM / ★ Silver Sliver / ★ Oxidation |
| Mini-boss | MAXXXSUPREME | ★ Hydrowerks / ★ Overconsumption |
| Mini-boss | Skank Eyes | ★ Plump Bob |
| Mini-boss | Infamous Dave | ★ Loiter Sploiter |
Seven items across four targets, with nothing left over — which lines up exactly with 2K’s “one boss, three mini-bosses” and “one Pearlescent, six Legendaries.”
What that means for farming:
- PRISM only comes from BETAMAXX. He carries three dedicated drops, so any single one of them is correspondingly rarer per kill — expect the longest grind here
- Hydrowerks and Overconsumption both come from MAXXXSUPREME; Plump Bob from Skank Eyes; Loiter Sploiter from Infamous Dave. Those three are clean single-target farms
- Mini-boss encounters depend on your A-or-B choices — you can talk your way past some of them, so pick the fight route when you are farming
The name BETAMAXX is a play on the Betamax video format, and MAXXXSUPREME shares that root — the two are clearly the same lineage of enemy. Note the spelling Skank Eyes, not “Skunk.”
💡 Verification note: Infamous Dave → Loiter Sploiter is corroborated by multiple independent sources. The other three pairings currently rest on fewer sources, so we are re-running the farm ourselves to confirm them. Measured drop rates will be added here as we get them.
Mission completion rewards (separate from drops)
- A Vault Hunter skin usable by every Vault Hunter
- A vehicle
- An ECHO-4 drone skin
Vault Card 4 — four rerollable Legendaries plus 24 cosmetics
Vault Card 4 is a reward track you unlock through play. Separate from the mission drops, it holds four more Legendaries (rerollable):
| Name | Type |
|---|---|
| Divided Glow | Order assault rifle |
| Eradication | Vladof assault rifle |
| Stealth & Seek | Maliwan sniper rifle |
| Pressure Kettle | Daedalus grenade (ordnance) |
That brings BP4’s total named new gear to 11 pieces (7 from the mission + 4 from the Vault Card).
The 24 cosmetics break down as: a unique head per base Vault Hunter, 4 all-Vault-Hunter skins, 5 weapon skins, 5 vehicle skins, 4 ECHO-4 drone skins, and 2 ECHO-4 attachments.
How the Vault Card works Activate it from the Vault Card screen in your ECHO menu. It fills from your normal XP — exploring Kairos, killing enemies, and finishing quests all feed it. No time limits, nothing expires, level it at your own pace. While it’s active, Daily and Weekly Challenges hand out extra loot and XP.
How the choices actually work — A-or-B, not branching storylines
Worth being precise, because this gets overstated. 2K’s own wording:
The narrative “plays with some fun A-or-B choices that can result in different dialogue and altered combat encounters. There won’t be any full-blown branching storylines,” but replaying to try different choices — including aid from different allies during the final boss fight — is part of the appeal.
So: not a multi-ending branching campaign. The same through-line, with dialogue, combat setups and your final-boss ally swapped out. That is the replay hook.
The part that matters for farming: some mini-bosses can be fought or avoided, and the dedicated drop opportunity only exists if you fight them (developer comment; to be verified in-game). A choice that reads as correct narratively can be the wrong call if you are farming.

What’s next (the full Q3 2026 picture)
Q3 splits into two separate milestones. These get conflated constantly — keep them apart:
| Date | Version | Content |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-07-30 | 1.9 | Bounty Pack 4 + Vault Card 4 |
| 2026-09-10 | 1.10 | Story Pack 2 “FL4K and the Last Resort” + new Vault Hunter Loveless the Hacker + Bounty Pack 5, all at once |
New Vault Hunter Loveless is not part of Bounty Pack 4 — she ships September 10. Whether Vault Card 4 includes Loveless cosmetics early is unconfirmed.
The August 20, 2026 DevCast detailed the September 10 drop (Version 1.10 brings a +10 level cap, and Bounty Pack 5 is titled “Amara and the Vile Shadows”) → Story Pack 2 “FL4K and the Last Resort”: Everything Confirmed
What we’ll add after launch
Names, counts and requirements are settled. What is left needs the game running:
- The four enemies’ names and which one drops what
- Drop rates and how they scale with UVH rank
- Unique effects and real performance for all seven items (these become full reviews)
- Whether avoiding a mini-boss removes its dedicated drop chance permanently

July 30, 2026, alongside the Version 1.9 update.
What's included in Bounty Pack 4?
Two parts: the narrative expansion 'Murders and Acquisitions' and Vault Card 4. You need to have had your first encounter with Levaine in Carcadia Burn during the main campaign.
Who are the Bounty Pack 4 bosses?
