Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 'FL4K and the Last Resort' (September 10): Level Cap +10, Bounty Pack 5, and Everything Confirmed

The August 20, 2026 Gearbox DevCast laid out almost the entire September 10 drop. Three things matter most: Version 1.10 raises the max level cap by 10 for every player, Story Pack 2 is set on Providence, a tropical resort island beside a volcano, and Bounty Pack 5 is “Amara and the Vile Shadows,” set on Elpis and in the Phase dimension. What arrives on September 10

The level cap is the part that hits everyone

The headlines are DLC, but the change that touches every player is the Version 1.10 level cap increase. 2K’s wording is that it increases the max level cap by 10 levels for all Borderlands 4 players — you get it from the base update, no purchase required.

Practically, that means:

• Capped characters have room to level again, so more skill points to place
• Your current gear becomes level-stale, and you have to decide what is worth re-farming at the new cap
• Farming plans for Pearlescents and Legendaries are worth rebuilding

What 2K has not published is how many skill points you actually gain or how existing gear scales. Those are measurements, not announcements — we will run them in-game after launch, which is what this site is for.

Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort

The setting — Providence

A tropical island resort sitting next to a massive volcano, which Tediore is converting into a military base. Jungle canopy, volcanic terrain and corporate military architecture all share one zone.

The story — FL4K and Mr. Chew

FL4K, the Beastmaster and playable Vault Hunter from Borderlands 3, returns — this time to rescue their missing skag companion, Mr. Chew. The Tediore force holding the island is led by Lieutenant Harmony.

FL4K appears as a central NPC rather than a playable character, the same role Amara and Zane occupy in the main campaign.

New mechanics

2K called out four:

Enemies — the Tediore army

Exo-suit soldiers, “Deadframe” mechs with weapon attachments, hulking war machines, and elite “manager” enemies. A corporate army built from mass-produced troops plus heavy units.

Loot — two Pearlescents and 18 Legendaries

Two Pearlescents in a single Story Pack is generous next to Bounty Pack 4’s single PRISM. Which boss drops what has not been announced — that mapping is post-launch work.

New Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker

• An ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin
• Equipped with the highest-end cybernetics
• Bonded with a digital virus of her own creation, which digistructs as a physical extension of her will
• Playable across all Borderlands 4 content
• $9.99 USD

Her Action Skills and gameplay get a dedicated Gearbox DevCast episode on September 3, 2026. The August 20 stream only showed a brief in-game glimpse.

Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows

Officially: team up with Amara to track down Phase disturbances and stop their propagation before they unravel the known universe. It is a repeatable mission spanning Elpis and the Phase dimension, and it digs into Siren lore.

The two hooks here are Elpis returning — the setting of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel — and the Phase dimension being used to expand Siren lore.

Vault Card 5 ($5.99)

Same shape as previous Vault Cards: 24 cosmetic items plus four pieces of rerollable gear.

• 4 rerollable Legendary weapons
• 4 universal Vault Hunter heads
• 4 universal Vault Hunter skins
• 5 weapon skins / 5 vehicle skins
• 4 ECHO-4 drone skins / 2 ECHO-4 attachments

Progress comes from daily and weekly challenges, with no time limit.

Pricing, and the PS5 / Xbox catch

From September 10, older DLC becomes individually purchasable.

Edition coverage is unchanged:

• Super Deluxe Edition = Bounty Pack Bundle (Packs 2-5) + Vault Hunter Pack (Story Packs 1-2)
• Deluxe Edition = Bounty Pack Bundle

Names, structure and pricing are settled. What is left requires the game running:

• How many skill points the +10 cap actually grants, and what it does to existing builds
• Whether current end-game gear still performs at the new cap (the re-farm threshold)
• Which boss drops what — the full mapping for Story Pack 2’s two Pearlescents and 18 Legendaries
• Unique effects and real performance for Astonisher, Quadratus and AeroDramatic (each becomes a full review)
• Farm efficiency of the Bounty Pack 5 boss (expected value per run)
• Whether volcano world-event mini-bosses have dedicated drop pools
• Reward structure of the Digiverse activities (waves versus payout)
• Access requirements for Story Pack 2 (how far into the campaign you must be)
