Red Text
It's self-indulgent, I admit.

A Pearlescent sniper built entirely around stacking status effects — the more you apply, the further its damage climbs. Maliwan-made, it deals +100% damage per status effect on the target. Burn, corrode, shock, slow, irradiate: every layer multiplies the payoff, which makes this a specialist’s gun rather than a pick-up-and-play one.

🧩 Where the red text comes from “It’s self-indulgent, I admit.” is reported to be flavor text from the Magic: The Gathering card Conflux (per Lootlemon and MentalMars). The weapon shares that card’s name, and “conflux” — a flowing together — matches an effect that rewards merging elements on one target. Primary confirmation of the MTG origin is unverified (the Fandom trivia page returned HTTP 402 and could not be read).

What kind of sniper is it?

The mechanic

On impact, bullets deal +100% damage for each status effect on the target (unique ability Sinew).

Watch out Amon’s Weakness and Harlowe’s Daze are debuffs, not status effects — Sinew does not count them.

Elemental Override (all Pearlescents)

Damage type converts automatically based on the enemy’s health type:

Corrosive OverrideArmored enemies
Incendiary OverrideFlesh enemies
Shock OverrideShielded enemies

Licence parts and rolls

Prefixes and licence parts are separate axes The prefix reflects the gun’s own parts (mostly the accessory) and hints at its stat bias. Licence parts are an independent system that layers another manufacturer’s trait on top. Neither predicts the other — a roll is prefix + licence + anoint + stats together.

Licence comboRatingWhy
Jakobs★★★Ricochet accessory — bullets bounce for extra hits
Jakobs + Ripper★★★Ricochet plus Charge Mag; highest burst
Daedalus + Jakobs★★★Underbarrel plus ricochet; most flexible
Daedalus + Ripper★★☆Underbarrel plus charge; demanding to pilot

Available licences: Jakobs (Ricochet) / COV (Unlimited Mag) / Ripper (Charge Mag) / Hyperion (Gun Shield, Accuracy Grip) / Daedalus (Underbarrel, Multi-Loader) / Tediore (Throw on Reload variants).

Pearl parts: Pearl Damage (more damage, other stats reduced) / Pearl Handling / Pearl Fire Rate / Pearl Reload (accuracy and reload up, magazine down).

What to hunt for Sinew scales with status count, so the gun wants a build that applies many of them (Amon’s cryo, Vex’s bleed). Pearl Damage is the ideal part.

How to run the Ordonite Processor (per 2K)

Base game — no DLC required. Processors sit in Fadefields / Carcadia Burn / Terminus Range.

  1. Activate a Processor by spending Eridium
  2. Kill the spawned waves to drop Ordonite canisters; feed them into the Processor
  3. Deposit enough and a stronger Ordonite-Infused enemy spawns — it can drop the Pearlescent (0.6%)
  4. Work fast within the timer and you can spawn up to three Infused enemies per run
  5. Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode adds +0.05% per rank

Build synergy

Vault HunterFitNotes
Rafa⭐⭐⭐Precision build; stack statuses then snipe from range
Vex⭐⭐⭐⭐Bloodletter bleed plus elements feeds Sinew well
Amon⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Cryo plus elemental build makes 5+ stacks realistic — the best pairing
C4SH⭐⭐⭐Workable via totem and card-applied elements
