Red Text
An affinity for disobedience.

A Tediore Pearlescent shotgun that pays you for running dry. Damage climbs as the magazine empties and peaks at +100% with nothing left in it. Managing your magazine is the damage rotation — which is either the most interesting thing about it or the most annoying, depending on your patience.

🧩 Where the red text comes from “An affinity for disobedience.” Some summaries tie it to a line from The Matrix Reloaded, but that origin is unverified. It fits the gun either way: Determined rewards disobeying the basic shooter instinct to reload the moment your magazine dips.

What kind of shotgun is it?

The mechanic

Determined: damage increases as magazine rounds decrease (max +100%).

How to actually pilot it Take Ripper’s Charge Mag licence: it burns the magazine down fast so you arrive at maximum boost almost immediately.

Elemental Override

Licence parts and rolls

Prefixes and licence parts are separate axes The prefix reflects the gun’s own parts and hints at its stat bias; licence parts layer another manufacturer’s trait independently. A roll is prefix + licence + anoint + stats together.

Licence comboRatingWhy

Farming

SourceBase ratePer UVH rankMax UVH
Ordonite Processor (Ordonite enemies)0.6%+0.05%0.9%

How to run the Ordonite Processor (per 2K)

Base game — no DLC required. Same activity as the Conflux, in Fadefields / Carcadia Burn / Terminus Range.

  1. Activate a Processor with Eridium
  2. Kill waves to collect Ordonite canisters; feed them in
  3. Deposit enough → an Ordonite-Infused enemy spawns and can drop the Pearlescent (0.6%)
  4. Up to three Infused enemies per run if you’re fast
  5. UVHM adds +0.05% per rank (max 0.9%)

Because it drops from the exact same activity as the Conflux, one farming session lets you hunt both at once.

FAQ

What does the Eigenburst do in Borderlands 4?

Determined: damage increases as the magazine empties, up to +100% at zero rounds. Each trigger pull fires a 3-round burst and consumes 2 rounds per shot.

Does a bigger magazine make the Eigenburst better?

No — the opposite. The bonus is spread evenly across magazine size, so a larger magazine takes longer to reach full boost. Small magazines ramp faster.

Where does the Eigenburst drop?

From the Ordonite Processor world event in Fadefields, Carcadia Burn, and Terminus Range. Base rate 0.6%, up to 0.9% at max UVH.
