Red Text
...Maybe one more.
This is the early-game shield you stop being able to take off once you notice what it does. Splashzone — the same boss that drops Lead Balloon — drops this Legendary Armor, and every kill automatically launches homing missiles for extra damage. Simply having it equipped raises your damage, and it stays useful from the early game well into the late game.
On the numbers below The unique ability “Bundle”, the augment “Missile Swarm” and the missile damage (Bundle 3,732 / Swarm 746) were all read in-game. Values scale with level.
Small notes about Red Text
The red text, ”…Maybe one more.”, comes from the Risk of Rain 2 achievement ”…Maybe One More.” (as noted on the Borderlands official wiki). This achievement unlocks the game’s item “Bundle of Fireworks” and the unique ability name of this shield is “Bundle (Bundled)”, which directly refers to “Bundle of Fireworks”.
Risk of Rain 2’s Bundle of Fireworks is an item that “when you defeat an enemy, fireworks that home in on enemies fly” — the exact same behavior as Firewerks’s bundle effect (homing missiles on kill). Name, red text and unique ability all point at the same reference — a neatly built three-part nod to RoR2.
What kind of shield? (Beginner’s perspective)
- Armor type (3 segments). Unique ability “Bundle” = missiles appear when you defeat an enemy, homing on nearby enemies (3,732 damage per missile, scaling with level)
- The missiles deal elemental splash damage, and the element follows whatever element the shield rolled. English-language guides put the cap at 4 missiles
- Additionally, it constantly has augment “Missile Swarm”, and when the armor gauge breaks, three additional missiles fire (1 missile 746 damage)
- The longer your kill chain runs, the more missiles are in the air. It is a set-and-forget shield: the damage happens whether or not you build around it
Unique effect (Mechanics)
Bundle (Bundled): Killing an enemy spawns a missile. The missile homes in on nearby enemies and deals 3,732 damage each (elemental splash, scaling with level).
- Missiles fire automatically on every kill, and consecutive kills snowball the number in the air
- Constant augment “Missile Swarm” = when the armor gauge breaks, three missiles fire (each 746 damage, varies with level)
- The missiles work the same on every character, so the shield does not ask anything of your build
- The 2025-12-11 update stabilized missile generation after kills (official change log)
Augments (Selection)
- The primary slot is effectively locked to “Missile Swarm” (three missiles on armor gauge break). That slot maps to the prefix
Barrage, which appeared on every one of the 30-plus units we checked. - ⚠️ One exception. Units carrying the prefix
Madinstead ofBarragefire 5 missiles rather than 3, at ×1.5 damage (967 → 1,450 at Lv45).BarrageandMadcontest the same slot as a base-versus-upgraded pair. - The secondary slot rolls one of 29 options (roughly 3.45% each), covering capacity, recovery, movement speed, damage resistance and so on. We have observed 22 of them, listed below.
- 💡 A unit with no secondary prefix in its name is not missing an augment — it has “Heavy Plate” (damage reduction up to +20%). When the prefix is omitted the default applies (confirmed on two units, Lv30 and Lv45).
- Worth aiming for (analysis): resistance and damage-reduction rolls for survivability, or damage-up rolls for offence — both sit well with how armor plays
Real-world roll examples (owned units)
From our own screenshots (2026-07-12 to 2026-08-22, 30-plus units at Lv30-48) Examples of different augments landing in the secondary slot. Prefix and augment map one-to-one.
Note: these units were recorded on a Japanese client, so the prefix names below are our renderings and may not match the exact English strings in game.

Drop Farming
| Drop Source | Chance | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Splashzone (Riptide Grotto / Coastal Bonescape) | ≈ 9% | +2% per UVHM rank; 30% via Big Encore |
Usable from early to late game You can pick this up early from the same boss as Lead Balloon. Of Splashzone’s three drops this is the best regarded, and level scaling keeps it relevant for a long time.
Farming route
- Fadefields → Coastal Bonescape → Riptide Grotto → the boss, “Splashzone”
- After clearing the relevant story mission, reset the rematch with the Encore Machine next to the arena and farm
- Each UVHM rank adds +2% to the drop rate (30% if you go through Big Encore)
Build compatibility
| Vault Hunter | Compatibility | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rafa | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Explosive builds stack well with the missile splash |
| Vex | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Melee kills fire missiles in rapid succession, clearing crowds |
| Amon | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Soaks damage while the missiles chip away |
| C4SH | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Kill chains keep the missile loop running |
Summary
- Widely regarded as the strongest of Splashzone’s three drops
- Every kill launches up to 4 homing missiles, with a further volley when a segment breaks (Missile Swarm)
- Damage you get simply by wearing it — it asks nothing of your build or your character
- A roll that comes with an element is more flexible still
- Farmed from Splashzone (≈9%, with fast resets via the Encore Machine)
- Overall score: 9/10
